BAFE SP205 Life Safety Fire Risk scheme was developed to help the company’s responsible person meets the criteria for fire risk assessments according to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

BAFE SP205 is a UK Accreditation Service (UKAS) scheme that covers fire risk assessments for life safety fire risk assessments. The scheme exists to ensure that the fire risk assessors have received industry approved third party accreditation and are competent to provide a high standard of fire risk assessment services.

Each assessor has an annual onsite audit carried out by an independent auditor who is approved by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) scheme, observing their method of carrying out a fire risk assessment. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires that the responsible person must, appoint competent persons to assist him in undertaking the preventive and protective measures. A person is to be regarded as competent for the purposes of this article where he has sufficient training and experience or knowledge and other qualities to enable him properly to assist in undertaking the preventive and protective measures. The BAFE SP205 scheme came into operation so that the responsible person can demonstrate that they took all reasonable measurers possible to appoint competent fire risk assessors within the meaning of the Fire safety Order.

Upon the completion of your fire risk assessment we will issue an approved Certificate of Conformity that CSAR Fire Ltd has applied the standards required by BAFE SP205 in undertaking your fire risk assessment. This certificate can be printed and displayed within your premises as a clear statement that you have had a fire risk assessment carried out by a competent life safety fire risk assessor and a registered BAFE SP205 company
